LASER-CUT PARTS FOR OUR TANKS AND YOURS
Every Watson tank starts as flat stainless plate, and its first stop is the laser. Our 6 kW fiber laser cuts stainless steel up to 1 inch thick with a clean, square edge that needs no secondary grinding before it goes to the rolls or the weld table. The 72-by-144-inch bed takes full sheets, so heads, shell plates, baffles, brackets, flanges, and nozzle reinforcing pads come off the table as finished parts rather than rough blanks.
The same machine is available for outside work. If you need stainless or high-nickel alloy parts cut to a drawing, tell us about the job through our contact form, and we’ll reply with where to send the cut file and material spec. We cut on the next open shift. Three things set the price: thickness, quantity, and whether you or we supply the material. We cut stainless steel and high-nickel alloys only.
WHY LASER AND NOT WATERJET OR PLASMA
Compared with plasma, a fiber laser cuts a narrower kerf and a cleaner edge, with far less of the heat distortion that makes thick plasma-cut parts hard to fit. Compared with waterjet, it’s much faster on stainless at most of the thicknesses we cut, with no abrasive to buy or dispose of. That’s why Watson moved its cutting to the laser. For tanks and custom parts alike, it’s the right tool.
